Guandu Nature Park

Taipei’s Green Eco-Lungs: Guandu Nature Park
Take a short break from the hot spring hills and venture west to the confluence of the Keelung and Tamsui Rivers, where you’ll find Guandu Nature Park. As northern Taiwan’s premier national wetland ecosystem, this expansive reserve is globally recognized by BirdLife International as an Important Bird Area (IBA).
The park boasts vast scenic boardwalks, lush aquatic flora, fiddler crabs, and mudskippers. During the autumn and winter migration seasons, it becomes a temporary home to thousands of migratory birds from the north—a spectacular sight for nature lovers. Stroll along the wooden trails or head up to the second floor of the Nature Center, where high-powered telescopes and friendly volunteer guides will help you peek into the vibrant daily lives of the local waterbirds. It’s also an ideal spot to rent a YouBike and enjoy a breezy ride along the riverside cycling path against a beautiful sunset.
Getting There: Approximately 20-25 minutes from our resort. Take the MRT from Xinbeitou Station, transfer at Beitou Station to the Tamsui-Xinyi Line, and get off at Guandu Station. From Exit 1, it is a 10 to 15-minute walk (or a 3 to 5-minute ride via YouBike or the Minibus No. 23).
Highlights: World-class wetland landscapes, birdwatching through professional telescopes, and observing intertidal wildlife like fiddler crabs.
Opening Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00 – 17:00 (Closed on Mondays. General admission is approx. NT$60).
