Beitou Geothermal Valley

Step into Nature’s Kitchen: Explore Beitou Thermal Valley
Formerly known as “Hell Valley,” this breathtaking volcanic crater is one of Beitou’s most iconic natural landmarks. With water temperatures soaring between 80°C and 100°C, it was recognized as one of Taiwan’s top scenic wonders as early as the 1920s. Today, the revitalized park features accessible boardwalks and stone-bed-healing rest areas, allowing visitors to get up close to active sulfur vents and learn about the rare “Hokutolite” (Beitou stone). While boiling eggs in the spring is no longer permitted for safety and environmental reasons, the majestic rising steam and rich mineral aroma offer a powerful encounter with nature.
Getting There: A casual 8 to 10-minute walk from our resort. (Simply walk uphill along Zhongshan Road right next to Beitou Park).
Travel Tip: Admission is free. The flat, easy pathway takes about 20-30 minutes to complete, making it the perfect afternoon stroll.
Opening Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00 – 18:00 (Closed on Mondays).
